Aan de hand van voorbeelden uit het dierenrijk, die vaak worden gebruikt om dergelijk geweld te relativeren of te rechtvaardigen, wordt getoond hoe deze redenering wetenschappelijk kwetsbaar en sociaal gevaarlijk is.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"949\">Sommige diersoorten vertonen inderdaad extreem gewelddadig seksueel gedrag, soms collectief, dat sociale of dominante functies vervult binnen de groep. Maar het feit dat dergelijk gedrag in de natuur bestaat, legitimeert het op geen enkele manier bij mensen. Het verwarren van wat bestaat in het dierenrijk met wat aanvaardbaar is in de menselijke samenleving is het ontkennen van de morele, wettelijke en sociale verantwoordelijkheid van individuen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"1343\">De video herinnert ons eraan dat menselijke seksualiteit niet alleen in termen van instinct kan worden gezien. Ze wordt beheerst door normen, wetten, cultuur en ethiek, en juist omdat ze gewelddadig kan zijn, moet ze gereguleerd worden. Impulsen, fantasie\u00ebn en verlangens zijn op zichzelf niet verwerpelijk; het is de handeling om er zonder toestemming naar te handelen die geweld inhoudt.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1679\">Door het oneigenlijke gebruik van biologie en ethologie in rechtvaardigingen te deconstrueren, laat de video zien dat seksueel geweld geanalyseerd moet worden als een menselijk fenomeen, gekoppeld aan machtsverhoudingen, overheersing en sociale contexten, en niet simpelweg als \u00abnatuurlijke\u00bb uitbarstingen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"2122\">Tot slot wordt de nadruk gelegd op een van de sterkste hefbomen van preventie: de ontwikkeling van psychosociale vaardigheden vanaf jonge leeftijd. Het leren herkennen van emoties, het omgaan met frustraties, het respecteren van toestemming en het geweldloos oplossen van conflicten helpt om gelijkwaardiger relaties op te bouwen en het risico op seksueel geweld op de lange termijn te verminderen.
